This 90min interactive workshop covers the principles and practical skills of critical appraisal. Work through a clinical paper using an appraisal checklist to determine whether a piece of research has been done properly and that the information it reports is reliable and trustworthy. This session covers:

• Understanding the critical appraisal process - why do we need to appraise? 
• Study designs and clinical questions they can address
• Identifying bias
• Clinical paper practical session - work through a clinical paper to identify validity of study design, methodology and results.
